The painted sea

The painted sea The painted sea

The painted sea: the name says it all. Mari Pintau is a bay on the southern coast of Sardinia, in the gulf that from Quartu Sant’Elena looks to Cagliari.

The name is enough: just look out from the sinuous curves of the state road that goes to Villasimius to understand why. Mari Pintau is a treasure chest of colors. The emerald shades of the sea blend in with the turquoise blue of the water, the shining white of the fine sand and the green of the hills covered with shrubs of Mediterranean vegetation, eucalyptus and juniper. Diving into the sea of Mari Pintau means experiencing the ecstasy of the senses. In Mari Pintau you can embrace all the elements of nature: the sea, the sun, the soil and the sand, the wind. The light of the sun reflects on the rock as well as on the surface of the sea, in a play of colored shades.

Not far from Mari Pintau is the wonderful bay of Cala Regina, full of pebbles and famous for the Is Canaleddus cliff. A little further on, is the wide bay of Geremeas, also characterized by a beautiful expanse of white sand. Beyond the promontory of Mari Pintau, are still the golden grains of Kala 'e Moru beach and the relaxing panorama of Baccu Mandara beach.

Just twenty kilometers from Cagliari, Mari Pintau is the perfect place to enjoy the sun and the scents of the Sardinian sea. Maybe after an evening in the lively clubs of Cagliari or a walk through the narrow streets of the historic center of the Sardinian capital.
